Here at NTC Training Center we can offer you a preparation course of 5 days. The minimum requirements is a Grade 9 Certificate and 4 years experience. Here you will learn the following: construct, assemble, maintain and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxilliaries.Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, square to round and rectangular to round flowing blue prints. Works involves use of hands and power tools, plumbing bobs, levels, wedges, dogs or turnbuckles. Assist in testing assembled vessels. Direct cleaning of boiler furnaces. Inspect and repair boiler fittings such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control-mechanisms, water columns and auxilliary machines. Repairing and maintaining mechanical equiptment, servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing machines, devices, moving parts and equiptment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electrical) principles.
